Bringing it to the present

So I thought it would be best if I post all my recent scans so my blog is brought up to date on my work, therefore, prepare yourself for a bunch of unrelated images and ramblings to go along with them :)

ImageI did this painting above a few weeks ago but haven’t posted it yet so I thought it was about time I did. I’m considering whether to make prints of this one to sell in my etsy shop but not fully decided yet… Any comments would be highly appreciated on whether you think it would sell if I were to do so :D

Above are two other paintings which I have also considered to make into a print set or as postcards or something along that line. I really do love floating heads <3

A gouache, technical and gold pen drawing/painting. Will put this up for sale on my etsy shop. Still really loving the gold ;)

The other week I got my friend to watch Tangled for the first time, she loved it just as I expected! It is a rather amazing film and I love the animation on Rapunzel’s hair, at the time of it’s release it was the best I had seen until Brave came out. Merida = best hair in animation ever. Want hair like that soooo much!… I digress, after watching Tangled I felt the urge to draw a very long plait and above is the result. Drawing plaits are fun so expect some more in the distant future.

This year my sister and I have been watching ‘My Little Pony: Friendship is magic’ which is probably one of the best cartoons ever! Applejack is a mutual favourite between my sister and I, but I also think Fluttershy is adorable <3 I’m always drawn to characters who can communicate with animals and Fluttershy is just so sweet :3 Hence the My Little Pony fan art above. I’ve never made any fan art before but it was really fun and I will make sure to do some more. I’ve even put a list together of my favourite characters from popular culture… Drawing Buffy is going to be awesome.

  1. I love all your drawings of hair – I think the first picture you posted would do great as prints! Though I do love all the little faces, they also make me sad – maybe that’s why I do like them. Just out of curisity, did you go to catholic school?

    • Thank you! I’m really enjoying drawing hair at the moment :D I might do a small number of prints and see how they sell, just got to find somewhere now to have them printed… I didn’t go to a Catholic school but I did go to a Church of England school, however I am interested by religious symbolism/imagery hence all the halos. Btw I really love the work you’ve been making recently :)
